Vladimir Putin got acquainted with the sea creatures.

The first visitors to the oceanarium were children.

The opening of Europe's largest oceanographic center ‘Moskvarium’ was held on the territory of VDNKh. Hundreds of children from Moscow’s social institutions, together with the President of Russia, were the spectators of the marine show.

In the center’s 80 small and big aquariums, one can see a variety of marine animals such as: sharks, dolphins, killer whales, jellyfish, and sea horses. The river life of various continents is well represented as well, specifically: Baikal seals, Amazon piranhas, caimans, turtles, and sturgeons. The Oceanarium later promises to inhabit manatees.

At first, the President inspected the aquariums with seals and sharks. At the aquarium with seals, Vladimir Putin even touched the glass. Then, the head of state went to the ‘touch-pool-aquariums’ zone, where one can touch some marine animals. There were many children in the zone, Vladimir Putin greeted them and touched the water carefully, as if to check its temperature.
