Kievskaya Ploschad
Kievskaya Ploschad, 28 September 2020

In September 2020, a Company, which is part of Kievskaya Ploschad Group of Companies, acquired a wholesale and food complex operating under the Four Seasons brand in Domodedovo, near Moscow, in the course of a public auction. It is planned to create an agrocluster based on the successful format of FOOD CITY on the territory of 32.79 hectares, with retail, warehouse, and office premises having a total area of 60 thousand square meters. In the future, it is expected to implement the project in 24 regions of Russia.

When implementing the project for the development of an effective shopping facility, an important task of Kievskaya Square will be to improve the Russian food infrastructure and create an up-to-date business ecosystem.

The project's innovative nature will be supported the development and implementation of a modern digital platform using an electronic exchange, which can be directly connected to both Russian and foreign suppliers, buyers, and service operators. Manufacturers will be able to sell their products to end users without any intermediaries.

The digital platform will allow trading online and making secure wholesale and retail transactions, working with trusted suppliers and buyers, using built-in banking products and services. In addition, it provides for a quick search for products of the required quality, will make it possible to determine the nearest procurement points, to establish the shortest ways of delivery.

The service will provide users with access to a much larger number of customers than offline trading, including to public procurements. Retail chains, government agencies, schools, day care centers, cafes, and restaurants will be able to reduce final consumer prices and make secured deals.

The project on food trade digital transformation will be implemented by Kievskaya Ploschad together with Sber, with its unique IT competencies. Migrating to non-cash payments and reducing cash turnover will not only be comfortable for customers and suppliers but also create conditions for making transactions as transparent as possible, including for tax authorities.

The service jointly developed by Kievskaya Ploschad, Sber, and the Federal Tax Service of Russia will be introduced on the new local sites used to replicate the FOOD CITY format. It provides information about your debts, allows paying the same online and removing any suspensions within a day.

First off, the FOOD CITY format will be replicated in million cities, such as Kazan, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Samara. In total, it is planned to replicate the format in 24 regions of Russia.

God Nisanov, Board Chairman, Kievskaya Ploschad Group of Companies:
"Creating a large-scale project to strengthen the food potential of Russia is an important strategic task of Kievskaya Ploschad.  We are proud that our signature project of FOOD CITY has become so relevant and highly sought one, and today covers most of the Moscow Region's needs in fresh and natural products delivered directly from suppliers. Kievskaya Ploschad plans to develop the FOOD CITY format in 24 Russian regions over the next 4-5 years exclusively at its own expense.
Our goal is to provide people with a unique opportunity to enjoy the modern retail infrastructure and easy-to-use e-services. This will create favorable conditions for both tenants and buyers, will help reduce final consumer prices, create new jobs and generally improve the quality of life of people."
