One of its founders, God Nisanov, demonstrated the oceanarium to the high-profile guests. He said that the 12 thousand square meter premise of the oceanarium is inhabited by 8 thousand marine and freshwater creatures from around the world. The ‘Moskvarium’ also has Russia’s most extensive exposition of freshwater fish.

God Nisanov also told Vladimir Putin and Sergey Sobyanin about the various scientific programs carried out in the oceanarium, such as: lectures on the sea nature and inhabitants, documentary films, and open seminars. These events are held in the spacious Lecture Hall of the Oceanography and Marine Biology Centre. Experienced guides offer exciting excursions through a 600-meter exposition with a visit to the panoramic area. The Moskvarium visitors also have a unique opportunity to touch the marine and freshwater fish and animals in special contact pools.

Having inspected the exposition, President Putin moved to the Moskvarium’s big hall, where, together with the children from Moscow's social institutions, he watched the show starring the marine inhabitants of the oceanarium.

The construction of Europe’s largest Oceanography and Marine Biology Centre was finished in July 2015. The uniqueness of the ‘Moskvarium’ also lies in the fact that it is the only Oceanography and Marine Biology Centre located far from the sea coast, and works all year long.
